Pulse Width Modulation Methods for Minimizing Commutation Torque Ripples in Low Inductance Brushless DC Motor Drives

This paper proposes pulse width modulation (PWM) methods for low inductance brushless DC (BLDC) motor drives that minimize the commutation torque ripples. An uneven current of non-commutation phase generates In BLDC drives, two types time delays in PWM also induce critical this paper, analyses and their effects are introduced. Then, proposed to eliminate region conduction region, respectively. The period is controlled be synchronized switching period. addition, synchronize interrupt. As a result, effectively maintain minimum as well ripples drives. validity demonstrated by simulation experimental results various driving conditions. show remarkably shortened reduced 27.6% comparison conventional method.
